"Trade" Breakfast with guest speaker Tony Sims OBE, Director, UK Trade & Investment Germany

The political to and fro around the European debt crisis and discussions about the wisdom of the keeping the Euro on the European economy, can easily mask the strength and buoyant state of German –UK trade relations. Indeed Britain has recently overtaken France to become Germany’s biggest global trade partner for the first time in the modern era and data shows that Anglo-German trade in goods and services is one of the fastest growing trade relationships in the developed world.

Against this backdrop we are delighted that Tony Sims OBE, newly appointed Director, UK Trade & Investment Germany, has agreed to come from the Embassy in Berlin to talk to us on the current state of this relationship and what can be done both to maintain and promote further this win-win situation for both countries.
